Hi George, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were charged an additional 2.5 hours of labor for swapping a wire on the horn contact plate, allegedly due to incorrect pinning. This part was sourced directly from an authorized Mercedes‑Benz dealer as deadstock. There is no plausible reason for anyone at Mercedes‑Benz to modify or repin wiring on a brand‑new steering wheel component — such a scenario is technically unfounded and highly unlikely.

What is far more realistic, and unfortunately a common practice in the automotive industry, is that workshops tend to increase installation charges when customers bring in parts purchased elsewhere.

If there had been any genuine issue with the horn contact plate, the installer could have simply transferred the horn plate from the original wheel — a straightforward procedure that takes no more than five minutes.

We would also like to note that you never contacted us at any stage regarding any problem with the product, but instead offered to remove your feedback in exchange for a $250 compensation.
